Buyer Representation & Acquisition
Buying a yacht is a significant decision, and having experienced, independent representation from the outset makes a real difference.
At Rogerson Yachting, we represent buyers throughout the purchase process, helping you identify the right yacht, assess value and condition, and manage the transaction through to completion. In addition to our own quality listings, we work across a wide network of professional brokerages, giving buyers access to a much broader market while saving time and avoiding unsuitable options.
How We Assist Buyers
Tailored Yacht Search
We begin by understanding your requirements properly. This usually starts with a one-to-one call to discuss the type of yacht you are looking for, how you plan to use her, budget, location, and timescale.
Based on this, we search both our own listings and a wide network of professional brokerages, locally and internationally, to identify yachts that genuinely match your criteria.
Access to the Wider Market
In addition to our own quality listings, we have access to large, professionally maintained databases of yachts through established brokerage networks and industry platforms.
This gives us visibility of thousands of yachts for sale across multiple countries, many with full specifications, history, and broker input already in place. The practical benefit for you is time saving and clarity: rather than trawling countless websites and adverts, we can quickly filter the wider market and focus only on yachts that are realistically suitable.
This approach often identifies good opportunities that buyers would otherwise miss, while avoiding unsuitable or poorly represented boats.
Market Insight and Evaluation
Before you commit to viewings, we provide an objective view of the market. This includes comparable yachts currently for sale and recent sold data, helping you understand pricing, value, and realistic expectations.
Viewings, Surveys, and Negotiation
When you are ready to proceed, we organise and attend viewings, coordinate pre-purchase surveys where required, and negotiate on your behalf with the selling broker.
Our role is to protect your interests, manage risk, and keep the process clear and structured.
Transaction Support
Once a yacht has been agreed, we assist with contracts, deposit handling, and completion timelines. Where appropriate, we can also coordinate introductions for tonnage measurement, registration, and marine insurance as part of the overall process.
Representation and Fees
In most transactions, buyer representation is provided through commission sharing with the seller’s broker, meaning there is usually no additional direct cost to the buyer.
To ensure we can act fully on your behalf, Rogerson Yachting should make the first approach to the selling broker. If a seller or listing broker is contacted directly beforehand, our ability to represent you may be affected. This will always be explained clearly at the outset.
